TruFuel Reviews: Benefits of Ethanol Free Gas

Ethanol may be okay for car but it’s not good at all for the 2-cycle small engines like in leaf blowers, line trimmers and chainsaws. The gasoline you purchase from gas station contains ethanol and a major issue can arise when gasoline containing ethanol is left unused for an extended periods of time. The ethanol in the gasoline attracts water from the atmosphere and the two bond together, the process is called “phase separation.” Having water in your fuel mix is not good. Water gets in and splits the oil and gas into two layers. Water is typically the first that enters into the engine without any lubrication, which can be a disaster for your power tool. And the bottom layer is the raw ethanol. Even fuel stabilizers can’t fix it properly.

TruFuel is made for best functionality – smooth, strong operation grat trigger reaction. With TruFuel, your engine stays clean. And because TruFuel includes ethanol-free gasoline, it’s easy on your engine, which is significant because ethanol will begin to wear plastic and rubber engine components away. Ethanol is a powerful solvent and when separation occurs it often degrades rubber fuel lines and plastic parts, causing unnecessary maintenance difficulties and decreased lifespan for your outdoor power equipment.

Ethanol fuel is the worst for small engines. Throw out the ethanol gas and stop killing the small power tools. TruFuel keeps your engines in good shape, little maintenance, easy to pour and store. They always start on the first pull after a year of storage.

A lot of discussion on the price in online forums and in reviews:

It might seems a little bit expensive if compared to taking a gas can to the station and then mixing your own but let’s break down and you will see a number of benefits that worth the price:

  1. High Octane: Normally people purchase 87 octane. But if you purchase the better 91 or 93 Octane gas then surely it won’t seem that expensive. TruFuel comes with  92+ octane.
  2. No Ethanol: This is priceless. Ethanol gums up and destroys your little motors. If you purchase separately a ethanol remover to mix with the gas you need to include the price with the cost you are calculating.
  3. Long TruFuel Shelf Life: An open or unopened can is good for years. Pump gas won’t remain good that long for the next season, unless you add stabilizer and again that bumps the cost up.
  4. Convenient size and no spills: Filling up a blower or a string trimmer or a chain saw with a 30-35lb 5 gallon gas can, while holding the safety nozzle open, etc definitely a pain in the butt. TruFuel is much easier. Open a can, pour it in and work. Totally hassle free.
  5. Seems to have better fuel economy. Could the octane or ??? but I seem to have to fill up a lot less using these.

Even the pros, who are years experienced to mix with their own agreed TruFuel performs better.

The inaccuracies of mixing, the need for fuel stabilizer and ethanol remover in addition to the 2-stroke oil means you are measuring and mixing 3x. When you add in the extra power associated with the higher octane fuel and the costs/hassles of the mix, it really isn’t that much more $$$ and in my mind, totally worth it.

  • String Trimmers (Weed Wackers, Weed Trimmers)
  • Leaf Blowers
  • Chainsaws
  • Snowblowers

Different brands require different fuel additive ratios. Check the chart below to see which TruFuel product is specially engineered for your outdoor power tools:

Safely Handling Tips

Designed with safety as a top priority, premixed fuel is packaged in specially engineered metal cans with a closure system that offers a secure seal, childproof cap and an easy-to-pour self-venting system.

Steps for Safely Handling Fuel for Small Engines

It’s easy to use but after all it contains gasoline, so it’s important to handling with extra care.

To Open:

  • Grasp can firmly.
  • Depress the safety tab.
  • Twist tab past the locking mechanism and unscrew.
  • Use a small funnel when pouring TruFuel premixed fuel.

To Close:

  • Screw the cap down tightly and make sure cap turns past the childproof locking clip.

How to Store TruFuel Premixed Fuel

Nothing much, it’s easy to store. Just store in a cool, well-ventilated area. The can has childproof lock, still, it’s best to store TruFuel out of the reach of children. Unlike gas station gas, TruFuel stays fresh for 2-years after opening and more than 5 years if unopened.

TruFuel Reviews: TruFuel vs Pump gas

As already discussed Pump gasoline contains ethanol that begins to degrade more or less in 30 days. TruFuel keeps your engine safe from ethanol degradation.

Untreated gasoline can leave deposits in your engine.

Pump gasoline containing ethanol will attract moisture and create numerous problems and poor performance.

TruFuel = Equipment that performs better and lasts longer

Pump gas and oil = Leaves carbon deposits and gunk that can damage equipment

  1. I have learn a few excellent stuff here. Certainly worth bookmarking for revisiting.

I surprise how so much attempt you put to make this sort
    of excellent informative site.

  2. Just wanted to clarify your information on this article! First off “Not” all fuels contain ethanol in them> Majority of them do but there are still some that don’t , so check the premium label at the pumps to see if ethanol 5-15% has been added or not! Also best chainsaws?? No mention of STIHL? Why? In my onion they are “The Best”!
